Before and after
A freelance web designer's thread (written by us as a realistic example): the lead said "I'll talk to my partner this week", their worry was losing their Google ranking, and nothing has come back for 18 days.
After (real output, excerpt):
Open question: what does the partner need to see to say yes?
- A useful nudge (send now, same thread): "You mentioned you'd talk to your partner about the proposal. Did that happen, and is there anything they'd like me to clarify?"
- A useful addition (5 days later): "You said losing your Google ranking was your main worry, so here is what I'd do. [...] [CONFIRM: add one concrete check you actually do]"
- A polite last note: "I'll close this proposal on my side so I'm not cluttering your inbox. [...] a quick 'not now' is all I need."
What it does
Paste the history of a lead that went quiet. You get a short read of where it stalled and four follow-ups, each easier to answer than the last: a useful nudge, a useful addition, a plain check-in and a polite last note. Subject lines and send gaps included. No fake urgency, no "just circling back".
The evidence
1 run on a thread we wrote ourselves (Claude Sonnet); nothing invented, no false urgency. Not yet run on a real thread.
More on how it was tested
We read each message against the history: nothing invented, no false urgency, a [CONFIRM] where the history gave nothing to add. Not yet run on a real thread or on other models. A second run with an unsure name, date and price: the first version put the unsure name into the messages as fact, so it now writes [CONFIRM] in its place; the re-run did. Tested on two real examples.
Limits
- It never says a lead opened anything.
- If the lead said no, it writes a thank-you reply only.
- You decide whether to send.

How do I pay and get the files?
Checkout: Gumroad opens on this page. Click Add to cart, enter your email and card details, and check the total, with any VAT, before you pay. Prices here are in US dollars.
After you pay: a download page opens right away with the zip file, and Gumroad gives you a receipt there that you can resend. Open it, then paste the text from the prompts folder into ChatGPT and add your details.
Refunds and contact

What is in the zip
LICENSE.txtREADME.mdclaude-ai/(1 file:follow-up-ladder.zip)prompts/(2 files:follow-up-ladder-v1.0-prompts.pdf,follow-up-ladder.md)follow-up-ladder/, the skill itself:SKILL.mdREADME.md
Using it with an AI assistant
- Unzip the download. It holds the
follow-up-ladderfolder, ready-made zips for claude.ai in aclaude-aifolder, a README and the licence. - Put the
follow-up-ladderfolder where your assistant looks for skills. The generic path is.agents/skills/(ornpx skills addfrom a folder). Tool-specific paths:- Claude Code:
~/.claude/skills/(or.claude/skills/inside one project) - OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and others:
.agents/skills/or the skills folder their docs name - claude.ai: Customize, Skills, then the plus button, Create skill, Upload a skill, and upload the zip from the
claude-aifolder without unzipping it (code execution must be on in Settings, Capabilities) - ChatGPT or any chatbot: open the skill's
prompt.md, paste it into the chat, then paste your own text or link - Steps for each tool, with links to its official docs: how to install skills
- Claude Code:
- Ask for the job in plain words, for example: "This lead went quiet after my proposal. Here is the thread. Write me a follow-up sequence.". The skill loads by itself.
